Parasailing. It is a sport that offers fun combined with exhilaration and breathtaking moments. It isn’t for the weak-hearted because this activity can take you off the ground for as high as 200 feet!

There are three ways to start a parasailing experience:

1. Starting from the shore (also known as the Beach method): In this type of parasailing, the parasailor is taken from the ground and usually makes a water landing. Among the three types, the beach method is the least recommended even for experienced parasailors. This is because the speed and the altitude of the ride are mainly controlled by the boat (or car, whichever is pulling the parasailor). With the slightest miscalculation, the rider might land in an unsafe area (probably in the water!). Only the highly experienced should choose this type of parasailing as steering instructions are also given to the rider.
2. Starting from the platform towards the sea: In this type, the parasailor also starts from the shore but his landing would be the platform. A newbie could use this method even without any knowledge in steering a parasail. Both the boat and the platform are aligned with the wind (but just make sure that the wind is no lower than 5 mph and it shouldn’t be greater than 15 mph).
3. Starting from the platform on a ship (popularly known as the winchboat method): With this type of parasailing, the parachuter takes off from the platform on a ship where he is hoisted to an open parachute. This parachute is ready to be used and this type of parasailing is the fastest and safest among the three types. After parasailing, a winch will aid the person to land back on the ship’s platform. To make sure of a smooth landing, both the boat speed and the line speed should be synchronized. With this type, the rigid chair could be used to make the parasailor more relaxed during the ride. The partially reclined chair, much like the harness, is also attached to the winch which is hydraulics operated.

There are so many ways to enjoy parasailing. You could enjoy the experience as an individual, as a couple, or as a group (this is best done with your family!). And if you are bent on having this as your latest (or even lifetime) hobby, then you are well on your way to numerous adventures.

The parasailing helmet is one of the most necessary gears for parasailing. Just like any other extreme and outdoor recreational sports, parasailing can be dangerous because it involves flying and being towed by speeding vehicles.

Parasailing is usually done on the surface of water. It isn’t an excuse to get the necessary safety gear. Be reminded that fun doesn’t need to compromise a person’s overall safety. It would be nice to enjoy parasailing, and at the end of the day, you are still in one piece. You must agree.

But parasailing is different from all other extreme or ordinary sports. And so the helmet used should be customized for parasailing. That is because parasailing involves flying and so, extreme protection should be looked at without compromising comfort for the head.

The most distinct differences of parasailing helmets with other head gear is indeed the helmet construction. These helmets have interesting features that can’t be found, or isn’t applicable, in other helmet types.

Because parasailing is an air sport, parasailing helmets have a twin shell construction that is characterized by two different layers. Twin shell indicates that there are basically two shells to provide your head with two specific types of protection while parasailing.

The helmet’s outer shell is made of a composite fibre or special thermoplastic material. As such, be assured that the helmet can withstand great temperature changes and resistance to penetration by even the sharpest objects. So even if your head bangs into anything, your head is protected.

Then there is an inner shell that is usually crushable, meaning the polystyrene material absorbs energy, helping reduce or avoid possible head injuries during a collision. However, the inner shell is usually vulnerable to bumps, so it can be easily dented or deformed.

That means, you have to replace your parasailing helmet immediately when you find that its inner shell damaged. Otherwise, the helmet won’t work appropriately, and wearing the malfunctioning one is as bad as not wearing any helmet at all.

Aside from the functions, a parasailing helmet can also be a fashion accessory. Thus, there are numerous stylish helmets around. Usually, good parasailing helmets are imported from the United Kingdom, where the recreational activity was invented and initially popularized.

Get your’s now if you are aiming to parasail. Remember to use the helmet only for parasailing, because it can easily deform from too much bumping. Furthermore, the parasailing helmet isn’t cheap.

Parasailing is an activity that is both a sport and a fun recreation. However, even if parasailing is done during calm weather, it is important that safety is still the priority. The use of devices which are for personal flotation or the use of life jackets should be a must for everyone on the speed boat especially for the flyer.

The federal regulation code requires that these items be present on the boat, besides the all important life jacket, backfire arresters, system ventilation, a plaque that lists specific penalties related to pollution.

The law requires that life jackets be worn by kids in particular activities. Life jackets that are the upgraded kind are also required for children.
The following are basic steps in order to choose the appropriate parasailing life jackets.

Choose those approved

As much as possible, use life jackets that have been approved by the United States Coast Guard. This helps in ensuring your life jacket is certified effective and extremely usable by you and anyone who will be on a boat.

Does the parasailing life jacket fit?

A parasailing life jacket is effective if it fits the wearer perfectly. Size shouldn’t be a problem especially during times of emergency. To make the life jacket easily wearable, size and weight of the life jacket must appear on the label.

A good life jacket must snugly fit a person. His head, chin and neck must not be able to slip through.

The parasailing life jacket must be eye-catching

The reason for this isn’t for vanity or style. The simple reason is that a parasailing life jacket that is bright in color could be very easily and conveniently spotted in case the wearer is in the water.

A helpful tip in wearing a parasailing life jacket is that it should always be put on prior to being in the water. This is because it would be very difficult to wear the parasailing life jacket once one is already in water.

All in all, wearing parasailing life jackets is a must for anyone and everyone who are on a boat, be adults or children. Take note and check if the parasailing life jacket has holes or if they don’t work appropriately. Remember, the life you save could be your own.

Ever felt that you’ve drained so much of your energy and that you need to recharge yourself? The world is such a busy place to live in, every once in a while, we need to getaway from the physical hurdles, and just unwind and enjoy ourselves. And I know just the kind of place where you can definitely soothe your soul.

Clearwater in Florida is the perfect spot to take a relaxing vacation. You could bring your friends and the rest of the family to visit one of the world’s top tourist destinations. There’s a lot to enjoy. You could sunbathe under the warm sun, play volleyball on their sugar white sand, or maybe just stroll around the beautiful shoreline.

If you want to get a better look at the area, Clearwater offers great and safe parasailing excursions. What could be a better way to explore a natural beauty than by viewing it from above? Parasailing utilizes a chute attached to a high speed vehicle, to propel the adventurer high up into the clouds.

Parasailing has been popular for quite a while in Clearwater. You’ll be able to observe parasailers swooping down the shoreline or over the peaceful beaches. Just watching them fly by doesn’t help quench your curiosity about the sport. You need to actually experience parasailing.

In order to ensure that you’ll be having a safe parasailing activity, you need to take up a short course and learn the basics of the sport. The friendly parasailing instructors in Clearwater would be very enthusiastic to teach you how to effectively operate the parasail so you can soar above the beaches.

You’ll probably get the best view of the coastlines, beaches and shopping districts. And if you’ve lucky enough, you might even get a chance to fly with the seagulls. Parasailing has something great to offer for those who are still young at heart and adventurous enough to do something extraordinary.

But you’d enjoy the sport even more if you parasail with someone. He or she could be your friend, partner or a family member. Parasailing is a great way to strengthen that bond. You might get scared at first flight, but if you’re with somebody you trust, you’ll easily overcome that and start enjoying the great panorama.

So what are you waiting for? Why not call over your friends and decide when you’re going to parasail over Clearwater.

First things first, parasailing is a rare opportunity to fly like a bird. It is also a sport adventure activity that has long been done and practiced for more than two decades.

One of the requirements needed is a speed boat that has at least a horse power of 90, a harness, towline. Also, the speed of the wind must range from either twelve to twenty seven mph. As much as possible, the flight and takeoff area should be clear and shouldn’t have obstructions like ropes, trees, or power lines.

Prior to parasailing flying

The parasail flyer should have a helmet, a life jacket as well as protection for the feet. The canopy chute is then held on the sides of by the crew. Immediately, a signal is given. The flyer then resists the boat’s pull in order to keep the line tight as well as to keep his balance.

Parasail flying

Now that the flyer is floating in the sky, the harness should be sat in. Steering towards the left or right direction must be achieved via pulling on the risers either from the left or right.

The altitude is then controlled by the speed of the boat. The fact of the matter is that the boat could travel and turn along the wind, as long as the speed of the boat is increased in order to keep the flyer’s wind speed.

Parasail landing

The parasail landing is on water. As much as possible, the parasail landing area should be clear. The speed boat must stop completely prior to splashdown in order to prevent the chute from being dragged along the water.

After the parasail landing, the one flying must then unhook himself from the parasail chute and should also be immediately picked by the crew of the boat.

The parasail is then brought towards the boat and made ready for the next ride. Take note that if a parasailer has enough experience in landing on water, he may then consider touching down on land. This therefore requires skill from the speed boat driver and the flyer. Landings on land could increase injury risk, however it is a good way to stay dry.

All in all, any sport adventure activity, specifically parasailing, involves a few risks. What is necessary is the drive to do it no matter what.

Have you ever wished you were a bird so you could fly and see the wonderful sights from up above? Well, if you do, then beach parasailing is the sport for you. Parasailing gives you the kind of feeling that birds must feel when swooping down on the beautiful beaches of the states.

Basically, in parasailing, you just need to attach your chute to a moving high speed vehicle which will pull you up the air. Of course, you will have to go through some training to be able to operate the parasail properly. You should be able to enjoy the sport after a few days of learning with a parasailing expert.

Probably the safest places to go parasailing are beaches, for obvious reasons. You don’t have to worry about colliding into high rise buildings or landing on cemented highways. The beach also offers a better view. Just imagine how wonderful it is to cruise like a bird on top of peaceful beaches and white sand, not to mention the thrilling sight of the mountains and clouds from afar.

Almost everybody, as a kid, wanted to fly high up above, right? If you’re the type who doesn’t really do well under the sea, then why not try going above it? With beach parasailing, even people who don’t really like swimming are now going to the beaches to try a different kind of “water” sport.

If you’re interested in parasailing, all you need to do is just visit one of the parasailing vendors along the beach. They will have qualified trainers to teach you everything you need to know about parasailing. Then just go ahead and get yourself a chute and motor so you can soar in the wind.

Parasailing might cost you a few dollars more. However, there’s no substitute for the experience of flying and looking down at all the picturesque views. Everybody who has tried parasailing would probably advise you to parasail too.

Before you go ahead and parasail, though, make sure that you’re healthy enough to take up the sport. Remember that it’ll be difficult to handle medical situations when you’re a hundreds of feet above the beach. It is also advised to get yourself a really good trainer. Safety should still be your first priority.

The next time you drop by a beach, check if they offer parasailing. Your beach vacation would definitely be more memorable if you add some parasailing excursions to your sunbathing and swimming activities.
